Insight & Action

Breakpoint was founded on the notion that we could help people and organizations succeed by bringing them expert, candid advice and an outside perspective on their business. So whether you’re a C-suite executive who needs to think differently or a potential client seeking a new business partner Breakpoint offers a fresh perspective that helps to navigate the curves ahead.

Do you hear what I hear.

At Breakpoint we believe in the power of the human connection and we're founded on the principle that we make businesses great, for people. Lately we have been talking to people who are thinking about their well-being as they navigate to survive. A lot of conversations have been about their purpose. Why? People with purpose demonstrate lower levels of stress and associated illnesses. They are more productive, resilient and imaginative. They are happier.

Organizations have a role to play in helping their employees find their purpose and ways to apply it as a tangible part of building performance. We know that people seek fulfilment at work. In the current crisis those same people are testing the alignment between their purpose in life with the organizations reason for being. Shared purpose is a key contributor to the employee experience, higher levels of employee engagement, a reclaimed commitment, and lasting organization health. Smart business leaders are looking for ways to intersect their organizations purpose with that of their employees.

Let’s talk purpose. An individual’s or organization's purpose is the same. It is about what matters in their lives. It is what we are striving for, what means something to us, what we value. As business leaders one of our most important and challenging responsibilities is connecting with our employees to match their purpose to the work of the business to achieve the organization strategy. Research tells us where leadership is similarly purposeful people are more trusting to explore how their personal purpose can best fit with their organization’s needs.

Today forward looking companies everywhere have been reminded of how critical their people are to their organization success. Never before has the spotlight shone so bright on the value of having healthy motivated employees. The best leaders are working to understand how each individual's purpose, what they want and need from work, can be employed to encourage everyone to be fully engaged in supporting the rapidly evolving needs of the organization. By finding as a leader the purpose in people you will create organization opportunities to learn together, to grow your competitive presence, to increase your service capabilities creating differentiated market presence that will be critical to sustainable success.

The pandemic is testing leaders everywhere to attract people whose purpose fits with the organizations goals and ambitions. Every person has a voice and the organizations that hear that voice will be more resilient and will outperform their competitors. Are you listening?
