Game day
My experience and passion is working as a member of a leadership team with emerging mid market companies. We are builders and entrepreneurs. We have chosen to take risk, to create, and to make a difference. The Toronto Blue Jays last night won the 2015 American League Division Series. Their leaders are builders, risk takers, and last night they made a difference.
All of us in our own way have dreamed of being a champion. Best in our game.
Winning is never easy and is the culmination of years of hard work, sacrifices, failures that make you question your self, and successes that rise us up. Playing at the big league level whether in sports, business or in life teaches us about being part of a team and what it takes to be a winner. Maybe that's a part of our attachment to professional sports. The road to any major championship is always exciting and there are always lessons that translate from the field to our own lives.
Alex Anthopoulos, Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Toronto Blue Jays "I think sometimes in sports...teams get caught up looking too far ahead and they lose sight in what's in front of them, and you never get to those games."
on John Gibbons, Blue Jays Manager, "He's a wonderful man. He creates positivity in the clubhouse. He creates positivity in the dugout - a guy that makes you believe in yourself and believes in you. That translates".
on Marcus Stroman, Toronto Blue Jays Pitcher. "He's just embraced his own identity and knows who he is. In order to be good at this game at the big league level, you have to know your own identity and never, ever waver on it."
Whatever you do, where ever your game is played - be your best. Create, take risk, make a difference. It's game day.
